RURAL CENTER /CHAPMAN MUSIC
Welcome to My World
I’m Jeanette Jones and I teach music at Rural Center and Chapman Elementary schools. I have taught in the Chapman schools for 22 years. My first year of teaching was at Fort Riley and then I taught for 4 years. I then stayed home to raise my family. I then returned to Blue Ridge and Talmage part time. For the last seven years I had been full time at BR and CE. I am now at Rural Center and Chapman. I have three children, Corey, who is married to Amy ( an Abilene girl) and they have three children. Sophie is 7 years old, Lawson is going to be 5 soon, and Gretchen is 3 months old. My daughter Heather is married to Brian Hoff (a Junction City boy). They live in Bel Aire. No children yet. My youngest, Casey has returned to the family farm after graduating from Manhattan Vo Tech.
I really enjoy teaching music to young students. It is very rewarding to see students excited about singing songs or playing instruments. Program time can be the most stressful time, but it is all worth it when the students are so excited about performing and the looks on their faces as the audience applauds is priceless. Music is something they will always have in their lives and I hope that I can help them enjoy it more.
