State and Federal Programs Director

Principal Rural Center

I graduated from Hoisington High School, Hoisington, Kansas.  I served a tour in the US Marine Corps and was honorably discharged Sergeant in 1970.  Using the GI Bill, I attended Kansas State University when I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Education (1974).

After teaching a couple of years, I went back to KSU and received my Masters in Counseling (1976).  After teaching six years, I became a counselor for Elementary, Middle School and High School levels.  I have also enjoyed coaching many sports.  In 1989, I completed my Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Kansas State University.

At Clay Center, Kansas, USD 379, I held many administrative offices and retired as an Elementary Principal.    I returned to counseling in Chapman, Kansas for USD 473 K-8 shortly after the tornado.  I made many new friends with the staff and students.  I now hold the current position of State and Federal Program Director at the USD 473 District Office.  I also am the Principal of Rural Center Elementary.  Rural Center Elementary is great school just south of Abilene.

“I am very fortunate to be a part of a superior District like USD 473 Chapman.  It’s wonderful watching and being a part of building new schools for the future generations.”
