Mrs. Stalder - Language Arts

My name is Bari Lynne Stalder.  I was born in Orlando, Florida and my family moved back to Kansas when I was about one year old.  I grew up in the old Walla Walla School House out near Milford Lake. I attended Chapman Elementary, Chapman Junior High, and Chapman High School from which I graduated in 1980.  I married Joe Stalder in 1983 and we moved to rural Dickinson County after finishing college.  We now live in the city limits of Chapman.  We both grew up camping, fishing, skiing, and swimming at the lake.  We have continued this great tradition with our two children.

Joe owns his own Automobile Repair and Parts store, Stalder Auto, here in Chapman.  Our son, Tyler, works for KOCH industries in Wichita as a web developer.  Jordan, our daughter, is a student at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas.  She is played volleyball for the Moundbuilders and is majoring in Child Psychology and Sports Marketing.

I started teaching Pre-school at Fort Riley in 1985, then moved to Learning Disabilities for the Salina Coop.  I  began teaching all the elementary subjects in 1990 at Talmage Elementary with USD 473 until that school closed.  Finally I moved into Chapman Middle School and have been teaching Reading/Language Arts ever since.

I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a teacher and I contribute this to the wonderful teachers I had growing up.  It makes me proud to say I teach in USD 473.
